Parviflorus UP-906 Speakers
Between October and January of 2015, I designed and built a pair of studio monitors.
As a sealed design, these speakers have a tighter transient response, more faithful bass reproduction and more gradual bass roll-off. They have a +-2dB response from 52 Hz -20,000 HZ. By placing the speakers closer to a wall and utilizing the boundary effect to naturally boost bass frequencies, the bass extends down to around 35Hz. For more information, check Here. Full Research paper Here.
The speaker's namesake, parviflorus, commonly known as a thimbleberry, is a wild berry regionally indigenous to my hometown. Just like a good berry, the cherry wood front baffle of the speaker's have "ripened" to a gorgeous red tone over time.
All testing was performed in a quasi-anechoic chamber using Fuzzmeasure and Earthworks M30 Reference mics.
