The Sound Archivist
Commercial Sound Effects Libraries
I founded The Sound Archivist in 2021 to share my recordings with sound editors and designers. My work focuses on documenting changing and disappearing sounds of our world..
A major focus of mine is to create libraries of sounds that are both commercially valuable to present-day professionals while also being mindful of packaging my work to be a sonic time capsule for future generations. As such, I try to collect as much information about my subject matter as possible. This leads to more descriptive metadata included with my sounds as well as additional information provided in the product packaging.
With such a broad area of interest, you’ll find me recording a variety of subjects from natural soundscapes, heritage items maintained by historical societies, firearms, vehicles, and more!
